Catching Up

There has been so much going on in the past two months, and I've waited so long to write that it is difficult to go into much detail. So here it is in a nutshell.........

We decided to put our house on the market at the end of June and much to our surprise, it sold and it sold quickly. Like nearly everyone selling these days, we took a loss but, all in all, we got pretty close to our asking price. The house is due to close the third week in August. I feel a strange mixture of sadness, relief and excitement. For me, the hardest part is moving away from my parents and moving the kids away from their grandparents.

Due to a number of factors which are just too boring to go into with great detail, we have altered our moving plan and have opted to move to Seattle instead of Hawaii. We still plan on spending a month or two in Hawaii every year to get some much needed sunshine but ultimately, we felt that Seattle was a better long term choice for our family at this time.

Our move to Seattle is scheduled for the end of August. Here are some photos of the new house. We are renting this time and will hold off on buying again for some time.

Bathing cap babes

We are in Japan visiting Colin again and before we left, he had told me that we needed to get bathing caps for the kids. Everyone is required to wear one in order to use the hotel swimming pool. I found these cute caps online. Neither of the kids are exactly thrilled to wear them but they do like the way the caps look. Meet Nemo and Kitty.

Happy Fourth Birthday Sophia!

Where to start? I've been away from blogging land for nearly two months now and I'm not even sure how to catch up. I will start with the most important news first! Sophia just turned four years old! It's true, our beautiful, vibrant little baby isn't a baby anymore. Thanks to Skype, we managed to include Daddy in the celebration and he got to watch Sophia eat cake and open presents all while he was thousands of miles away. Sometimes technology gets used for good stuff.

Happy birthday Sophia! We love you very much.
