The time has come............

As we ready for bed in the last night in our cozy Michigan house, it is hard to put all of our conflicting emotions into words. Excited about our new adventure, great sadness about moving, sadness about leaving family, relief over selling the house when we wanted and needed to, nostalgia over all the milestones we were lucky enough to have in the first house we owned, bringing Sophia home, seeing her bloom, thrive, walk and talk, and Keenan's amazing journey, and now, the bittersweet feeling as we take a last look around the house we made our home, but in a few short hours, will now be somebody else's journey. We reflect back on the endless painting, installation of window treatments, flooring, landscaping and new lighting and numerous other projects that consume our time. Most of it we will now leave behind for someone else to enjoy (or change). But the memories will surely stay with us as we now carry our hopes, dreams and fears to our new home that awaits us just north of Seattle.

Throughout the past few weeks, the kids have been absolute troopers, as have our family members who have been a tremendous source of support and instrumental help in this entire process of upheaval.

I'm not quite sure when I will have the opportunity to write my next post, but I hope we will soon be able to share some of our new discoveries and milestones as we make our way from here to there......

Sophia's Photos

Sophia got a kids "can't break it camera" for Christmas. She has enjoyed it but the camera had very low megapixels, so they were always grainy and hard to see. Recently, she has been borrowing our little Sony camera every now and then and has handled it so well, we finally decided she deserved a 'real' camera. We allowed Sophia to use her Birthday money towards the purchase of a refurbished Kodak Easy Share and we contributed the rest.

Here are her first efforts............I think her first efforts show it was money well spent.
