Catching Up

There has been so much going on in the past two months, and I've waited so long to write that it is difficult to go into much detail. So here it is in a nutshell.........

We decided to put our house on the market at the end of June and much to our surprise, it sold and it sold quickly. Like nearly everyone selling these days, we took a loss but, all in all, we got pretty close to our asking price. The house is due to close the third week in August. I feel a strange mixture of sadness, relief and excitement. For me, the hardest part is moving away from my parents and moving the kids away from their grandparents.

Due to a number of factors which are just too boring to go into with great detail, we have altered our moving plan and have opted to move to Seattle instead of Hawaii. We still plan on spending a month or two in Hawaii every year to get some much needed sunshine but ultimately, we felt that Seattle was a better long term choice for our family at this time.

Our move to Seattle is scheduled for the end of August. Here are some photos of the new house. We are renting this time and will hold off on buying again for some time.

Wow! That's BIG news!

Change is always hard but this looks like it could be a good one. Heck, you're several thousand miles closer to California (and that sounds good to me!).

We'll be flying into Seattle for a little weekend visit with one of Andrew's high school friends during the last weekend in August. I know you'll be wicked busy but if it turns out that we're close by, maybe we could coordinate a quick lunch visit.

Sounds like the best of both worlds. If you have to move I'm glad you sold the house relatively painlessly. The new house looks great...with plenty of space for the kids to hunt down a lizard or two.
Love the swim caps - they're a hoot!

Amazing house! Well the best of both worlds, spending a couple of months in Hawaii each year isn't too shabby!!

Let me know what the wether is like in Honolulu in early Sept. I am thinking of booking a holiday but it needs to be HOT!!!!

Thanks!
