Day 3

It is day 3 of our China adventure. Last night Sophia gave us her first poop! She was so much happier after that. We got smiles and giggles out of her almost immediately after she was changed.

Today, she puked just after the cab ride to Shamian Island. We speculate she either had eaten too much or she is prone to the same motion sickness that makes Kat miserable.

She slept well last night and only woke up once at 5 am. Demanded a bottle which she sucked down in no time flat. Then she fell back asleep and was out until 0830.

We have found that she absolutely hates having her diapers or clothes changed and will wail in protest whenever either task (or god forbid, both tasks) are undertaken. She is quite good natured otherwise but certainly has a mind of her own and isn't afraid to express it!

We are absolutely in love with her and she seems to be tolerating us OK. She seems equally content to spend time with Mom or Dad, and so far, doesn't seem to be phased by strangers who seem to be absolutely fascinated by this American couple that have adopted a Chinese girl. Colin commented that he just got a taste of what it must be like to be famous. We went on short shopping expedition today and were surprised by how many locals came up to us and asked about her or just openly stared and gaped, first at us, and then her. Of course, she is stunningly beautiful, so we can't really blame anyone for staring at her :)

Sophia is absolutely precious! I'm enjoying visiting your blog each day and watching your family grow. She's so sweet!

Thanks for inviting us along on your journey. Hopefully a year or so from now I'll be able to return the favor! :o)

So happy to hear about the poop! Funny how parents get excited about that stuff, huh!

She's one little cutie patootie! Yep! Give her a hug from me and 'cousin' Gwenny!

She is soooo cute!

Funny about the carsickness just like mom thing. My skin rashes out for all kinds of reasons or for no reason in particular that I can discern. And my daughter Bella, similarly, had a heat rash when we met and now we both have identical rashes on our elbows. I just figured they figured I'd know how to take care of her.
So odd how they match these sorts of things. Skin oddities they might have seen, but carsickness?
Congrats!
Andrea, group 102, got our babies last year on the day after Mother's Day (and it still was in Hawaii)
