Gingerbread House Fun

OK, I have to admit that it was a gingerbread house kit, so the project was strictly decoration. The kids had a fantastic time and I think they did a great job!

Carousel kids

On the rare occasions we venture out to our nearby mall, riding the carousel is a must. The kids love it and would stay on it on all day long if we let them.

One Snowman, Two Kids

Up until yesterday, the snow has been less than ideal for snowman building. Colin took advantage of the improved conditions and built this rather large snowman.

Five little snowmen

This is a noteworthy post because I actually managed to write it on the day of the event!

Sophia performed in the Christmas program put on by her class.  She was one of the five snowmen and she really seemed to enjoy herself.  That is, until Santa Claus showed up.  Colin managed to capture the moment on video.  Her face went from a smiling little snowman to a terrified little girl the nano second she saw Santa Claus enter the room.  After many cuddles and lots of reassurance, she finally worked up the courage to sit on Santa's lap so she could tell him that she would like a camera for Christmas.  When Keenan got his turn, he smiled for all of two seconds before emitting a huge wail followed by flailing arms and legs.  Poor Santa.

Fun by the lake

Visit with Grandma

Colin's Mom came out in early November and the kids had a wonderful time with Grandma.

Prize fighter

Actually, no.

More like he got in a dispute with Sophia over his cars.  He threw her purse at her, she responded by throwing a kid's plastic stool at his head.  I'd say he may have lost the battle but he won the war since Sophia was the one in trouble, lots of trouble.

All joking aside, it was very scary and only a trip to the ER reassured me that his eye would be OK.  Brother and sister are once again best friends...for now.

Falling into Fall

OK, well since there is a foot of snow currently in our front yard, I guess this post is wayyyy late, but the photos are so cute, I just had to post them.

Overdue update (yet once again)

I cringe when I see that is has been over a month since I last posted.  Better late than never seems to be my new motto.
